“David Straube has been our contractor of choice since 2003, when we moved to Sonoma. For 16 years, we have continued to employ his team and benefit from his broad skillset, which includes an artistic sense for design and practical approach to construction details.

David’s pricing has always been fair and well within local rates, something we have checked several times with local architects.

The work he has done for us has widely varied. There was a wrap-around redwood deck for our home on Moon Mountain. Then, we had him reconstruct several decks to absorb them into the interior. When we moved to our current Lovall Valley home, a 1970’s ranch, David reconstructed the entire home, starting with stripping down to the framing. Reconstruction activities ranged started with adding an extension plus new siding and roofing. 21-feet of sliding glass doors were added beneath a steel beam, placed by a crane. Within the interior, David replaced all electrical and plumbing, fully insulated the ceilings and walls, installed new kitchens and bathrooms above radiant floors, and repainted everything. Outside, he built a large IPE deck, topped by an aluminum pergola, and an IPE surround for the fire pit. Bordering the yard, he also built a beautiful redwood fence featuring horizontal boards interspersed with aluminum bars.
